GAYS TO CELEBRATE CARDWELL'S RELEASE

Philadelphia, May 10, 2002 -- A group of gay business and food media professionals celebrate the release of this summer's coolest cocktail, "The Cardwell," exclusively at Lamberti's, 212 Walnut Street, 2nd Floor, 215-238-0499, between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4th.

Michael Engel, one of Old City's cutest bartenders, will serve up some mouthwatering delights at a reception sponsored by the Greater Philadelphia
Professional Network (GPPN).

The $10 cover is waived for GPPN members and press.

"The Cardwell" is made with Smirnoff Vanilla, Malibu Rum, Midori, and pineapple juice.

"The drink was named after a dear customer of ours who absolutely adores this drink and hopes you will too," said Operating Partner Enrico Caruso and Manager Aaron Feinberg.

That dear customer is none other than Thom Cardwell, president and founding member of GPPN.

During the day, Cardwell is managing director for both of the city's major film festivals: the Philadelphia Festival of World Cinema (PFWC) and the Philadelphia International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival (PIGLFF).

For more than 15 years, Cardwell's byline has appeared in the nation's gay and lesbian media. He is currently a contributing writer for Philadelphia Gay News (PGN), Visions Magazine, Taste Magazine, Weddings/The Jewish Exponent and a permanent freelance editor for Fairchild Publications (WWD, FN, Salon News
and Beauty Biz).

When asked about his new signature drink Cardwell explained, "I'm usually the one giving orders. Now people are ordering me. I love it!"

GPPN members represent every profession, occupation, and business imaginable. Members have found customers, clients, employment opportunities, the knowledge to succeed, and the fellowship of friends striving for a common goal - to strengthen and enhance the economic vitality of the community.
