GAY PROFESSIONALS LAUNCH NEW WEBSITE
Philadelphia, June 13, 2002 -- The Greater Philadelphia Professional
Network (GPPN) launched today its new website.
"The new, edgier design is proof positive that GPPN is
not your mother's social club," said GPPN President Thom
Cardwell. "We mean business."
In March of 1993, Scott Laughlin, a 29-year-old account executive
at Boston Coach, spearheaded efforts to start GPPN with then
Assistant Deputy Mayor John Herzins. Nine months later, the
organization had over 120 members.
GPPN has since doubled in size and has hosted events throughout
the city, including one at The Prime Rib with Temple University
President David Adamany and another at City Hall for gay and
lesbian members of city government.
The new website designed by GPPN Vice President David Hallowell
contains information about the organization, referrals to gay-friendly
businesses throughout the greater Philadelphia region, an online
newsletter, links to pertinent community organizations, and
information on a variety of business and career development
issues.
For more information, visit www.GPPN.org.
GPPN is an acronym for the Greater Philadelphia Professional
Network. Its mission is to provide a social, career and business
development channel for the gay professional community. Members
reside in PA, NJ, and DE and represent a diverse array of industries
and professional experiences. They have found clients, employment
opportunities, the fellowship of friends, and the knowledge
to grow and succeed.
